Ronnie Chambers
Growing up, this southeast Georgia native spent every spare minute at his grandfather's large hunting plantation. During high school and college, he worked there as a guide, leading sportsmen to trophy deer, turkey, duck and quail. After college, he traveled the United States, Canada and Caribbean as a corporate pilot. Below are more career highlights:
- Property manager and boat captain for a large Bahamian operation
- Manager of a 1,500-acre hunting farm
- Founded a Georgia-based inshore/nearshore guide service that targets tailing redfish in ultra shallow flats/skiffs and in the summer, operated a tarpon fishing operation
- As a top hunting guide, led clients to thousands of quail and duck at plantations in the southeastern United States
- Maintains highest level captain's license
- US Coast Guard licensed captain
- Onsite General Manager of the Plantation
Roger Burge
Roger, a NC native, was introduced to hunting and fishing at a very young age. He caught his first Tarpon at age 5, which began an addiction that has led to a career in the outdoors. The hunting part of the equation came in shortly thereafter when his family became involved with a 2000 acre tract in Berkely Co., SC. Roger was intimately involved in the hunting and management of the property for deer, quail, ducks, and turkey. After grasping the principles of wildlife management, his family bought their own farm in Washington County, GA that Roger currently manages for the same species mentioned above. He attended the University of Georgia where he earned a BS Degree from the Warnell School of Forestry in Fisheries Management. He earned his captain's license at age 19 and spent his summers operating a charter fishing business split between Boca Grande, FL and St. Simons, GA specializing in light tackle and fly fishing for Tarpon, Snook, and Redfish.
Marc Chambers
A Georgia native, Marc has hunted all his life.In the past, Marc worked as a commercial fisherman and later as an engineer for CSX. Marc has fished in both saltwater and freshwater tournaments, winning several. Like all of our guides, Marc is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain.
He is now back where his real passion lies, working as a hunting & fishing guide with outstanding members and their guests.
Scott Dykes
"Captain Scott" is a successful contractor from Vidalia, Georgia who spends all his free time at his second home on the foot of Shellman Bluff dock. Scott has his own fishing guide service as well, which Fins & Feathers calls upon often.
Scott regularly brainstorms with us on new locations we should try. He also has quite a few 'tried and true' spots of his own. Scott has had great success on the IFA Redfish Tournament Trail with two first place finishes in 2002 & 2003. Additionally he enjoys catching Redfish on the fly as well as assisting clients with their flycasting. Scott is truly all about the overall experience, after all, he chooses to spend his free time guiding at Fins & Feathers Plantation.
John McLeod
John is a seasoned outdoorsmen who has many unique traits integral to being a successful guide. Born and raised in Richmond Hill, Georgia this motivated 22 year old is a full time student at Georgia Southern and also a full time guide.
John is vastly familiar with the Fins and Feathers tract of land, as he has hunted this exact same area (prior to Fins and Feathers purchase) since he was seven years old. In fact his father would drop him off for all day hunts when he was not yet old enough to drive. John has harvested approximately 100 deer within a 50 mile radius of Fins and Feathers over the last 15 years.
As with all well rounded outdoorsman, John also has extensive experience in the fishing arena. His team not only finished in eighth place in the Southern Kingfish Association Georgia division, but also qualified for the Nationals in 2005. In his personal time he pursues Stripers and Redfish in the Ogeechee River using popping corks with live bait and jigs with soft plastics.
Jaime Nettles
A McIntosh county native, Jamie grew up hunting and fishing the local area. Jamie has been with F&F since the beginning and is instrumental to our operations. Jamie has a variety of talents mechanic, welder, carpenter, and so on. Jamie's real passion is land and habitat management. Jamie is also an experienced hunting guide.
Michael Crosby
Michael Crosby was born and raised on the South Georgia coast. At a very young age, Michael discovered his passion for the outdoors, and since then he continues to learn and grow in his knowledge of hunting and fishing. As well as an avid outdoorsman, Michael is also a full time college student at Valdosta State University. He has been working at Fins and Feathers for five years and he is a USCG licensed captain.
